About the Role
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on diverse SUE projects. • Read and interpret utility records, as‑built drawings, survey plans, and highway designs. • Designate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies. • Operate and drive a vacuum excavation truck to perform test holes and expose utilities. • Implement appropriate traffic maintenance and process “One‑Call” tickets. • Coordinate survey work related to SUE activities. • Supervise field crew activities and train junior members. • Represent Colliers in the field, liaising with utility companies. • Pass pre‑employment drug screening and participate in ongoing random testing.

What You Bring
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Technician III for its Miami, FL office. SUE focuses on mitigating risks in new infrastructure design and construction by identifying utility conflicts using technologies such as electromagnetic line locators, ground‑penetrating radar, GPS, conventional survey, and vacuum excavation. The role demands high precision and strong technical ability. • Minimum 5 years of utility designating/locating experience. • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and software. • Strong reading comprehension, communication, and basic computer skills. • Comfortable working outdoors in varied weather and walking several miles daily. • Ability to lift equipment up to 80 lb and maintain a clean driving record. • Willingness to travel, work overtime, and prioritize safety. • Proficiency in English for written and verbal job‑related communication.
