About the Role
Carries out duties assigned by the Engineering Manager. Communicates with Production and Project Management, follows up with team members on meeting deadlines and upcoming projects, and informs the production shop of specific needs or issues. Provides advanced notice of any obstacles or potential missed dates. Works closely with Operations and Engineering teams on conflict resolution to ensure timely deadlines. Stays up to date with field conditions and updates drawings for fabrication accordingly. Maintains an understanding of all materials and hardware used to manufacture the approved scope of work. Utilizes AutoCAD and Microvellum to prepare production‑ready drawings and releases them to subcontractor vendors. Ensures all work is reviewed prior to release and reviews subcontractor drawings for submittals. Helps team members with questions and performs material take‑offs for ordering or inventory. Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have any direct supervisor responsibilities. However, the position assists and guides other team members with questions and concerns. • Produce production‑ready drawings incorporating redlines, field dimensions, and CNC machining details. • Coordinate with production, project management, and shop staff to align schedules and address issues. • Provide advance notice of obstacles and potential missed deadlines. • Resolve conflicts with operations and engineering teams to meet project timelines. • Update fabrication drawings based on field conditions and maintain material/hardware knowledge. • Create and release AutoCAD and Microvellum drawings for shop floor and subcontractor fabrication. • Review all work and subcontractor submittals before release. • Assist team members with technical questions and perform material take‑offs for ordering and inventory. • Complete additional duties and projects assigned by the Engineering Manager.

What You Bring
Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Occasional job site visits/field measuring may be required. Preferred Education and Skills (in addition to the required): Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Wood Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; 5‑10 years’ experience in architectural millwork, custom wood manufacturing, or a similar industry; knowledge of Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) standards; familiarity with Microvellum Toolbox; excellent AutoCAD millwork drafting skills; experience with CNC manufacturing; experience with millwork production methods and fabrication techniques; excellent problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution skills. Required Education and Skills: High school diploma or GED; minimum 5 years’ experience in architectural drafting/engineering; ability to read and interpret architectural drawings/blueprints; proficiency in MS Office Suite, including intermediate Excel skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities; experience with millwork production methods and fabrication techniques. • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Wood Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; 5‑10 years’ experience in architectural millwork or custom wood manufacturing. • Required: High school diploma/GED and at least 5 years’ experience in architectural drafting/engineering. • Proficient in AutoCAD millwork drafting, Microvellum Toolbox, and CNC manufacturing processes. • Knowledge of AWI standards and millwork production/fabrication techniques. • Strong problem‑solving, conflict‑resolution, and written/verbal communication skills. • Proficient with MS Office Suite, including intermediate Excel. • Ability to perform primarily sedentary work with occasional filing, lifting files, and field measurements.
