About the Role
The Project Superintendent (PS) plans, coordinates, and supervises field and administrative operations for projects, providing technical direction and overseeing safety, costs, productivity, profitability, and overall quality, including self‑performed work. The PS sets productivity goals, measures performance, and schedules labor, materials, and equipment, while managing subcontractor work and potentially supervising additional field superintendents. Sr. Project Superintendent I handles projects sized $51‑$100 million with 10‑15 years of experience, whereas Sr. Project Superintendent II manages larger or multiple complex projects totaling $100‑$199 million with at least 15 years of experience. • Review shop drawings, submittals, change orders, and purchase orders. • Conduct weekly coordination meetings and prepare daily field status reports. • Document design conflicts and clarifications with appropriate personnel. • Develop and manage the construction plan for successful execution. • Ensure work execution aligns with contract terms profitably. • Interact effectively with owners, teams, and stakeholders to maintain a positive project environment. • Update CPM project schedule, keeping it current using LEAN processes and weekly work plans. • Provide leadership and guidance to project team members and subcontractors. • Develop and implement Project Quality Management and Safety plans per Sundt standards. • Complete punch lists and schedule start‑up/commissioning of systems. • Occasionally stoop, kneel, bend, and climb stairs or ladders. • Use telephone, computer, and email to communicate with internal and external contacts. • Comply with all safety standards and procedures. • Frequently use hands to grasp, lift, handle, and carry objects. • Interact frequently with people during a shift. • Occasionally lift, push, or pull objects. • Sit, stand, or walk short distances for the duration of a shift.
