About the Role
The Operations Supervisor – Hauling Operations leads collections activities across commercial, residential, roll‑off and container services within a geographically dispersed area. Reporting to the Operations Manager and General Manager, the supervisor oversees drivers and helpers, implements tactical initiatives, and ensures budget achievement while maintaining safety, environmental, regulatory, and ethical standards. In the safety domain, the supervisor provides leadership to achieve safety goals, removes unsafe conditions from driver routes, collaborates with sales on new routes, partners with maintenance to keep equipment compliant, and drives active employee participation in loss‑control and safety programs. For customer experience, the supervisor ensures service meets or exceeds expectations, monitors missed‑pickup metrics, resolves unusual service requests, equipment breakdowns, and schedule changes, and acts as a positive company representative to build loyalty. Efficiency responsibilities include setting productivity goals, managing labor hours and disposal expenses, leading drivers to exceed productivity targets, creating and optimizing routes for density, reducing route hours through service conversions and container upsizing, and supporting fleet maintenance to meet budgeted goals. Employee engagement is fostered by creating a collaborative team environment, coaching employees toward career advancement, and developing talent to build high‑performing teams.
