About the Role
The manager oversees vegetation management operations to ensure electric system safety, reliability, and compliance with state and federal regulations. They may act as a subject‑matter expert, providing guidance, education, and influencing industry leaders on regulatory issues and program strategies. The role leads a team in a specific geographic area, including direct oversight of inspection and tree‑contractor personnel, and collaborates with customers and public entities to monitor vegetation proximity to PG&E assets. Employees must report to the assigned office location at least three days per week. The remaining days may be worked remotely, depending on business needs. • Lead and oversee vegetation management operations and contractor performance in a specific district. • Complete assignments with moderate guidance, solve moderately complex problems, and often lead project teams. • Communicate with peers to exchange ideas and gather information on program plans and goals. • Oversee quality‑assurance final reviews and contract drafting. • Partner with leadership across business lines to support decisions and meet goals. • Implement and create new concepts, processes, and ideas to advance the vegetation management program. • Serve as subject‑matter expert in public hearings, legal proceedings, and similar engagements. • Contribute to budget forecasts and business‑case development. • Review funding and purchase orders for complex projects for supervisor approval. • Deliver on program implementation plans. • Manage multiple programs and projects supporting other business lines. • Manage internal quality observations, including QA, verification, and vegetation inspections. • Manage environmental agency submissions and act as liaison. • Manage emergency work for severe storms, wildfires, and power‑shutoff events. • Provide updates, corrective actions, and lead daily Lean Management huddles. • Oversee safety investigations and corrective‑action plans. • Develop ad‑hoc reports, summarizing findings and recommendations.

What You Bring
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience. • Possess 2+ years of relevant experience. • Hold ISA Arborist/Utility Specialist certification. • Hold ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ). • Knowledge of forestry and utility vegetation management concepts, methods, and techniques. • Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, collaboration, diplomacy, and tact. • Excellent organizational, time‑management, prioritization, and planning skills. • Ability to work effectively in team environments. • Strong project and program management capabilities. • Ability to assess and recommend solutions based on technical knowledge. • Adaptability to changing business processes. • Understanding of utility and energy industry issues, trends, and influencing factors. • Ability to interpret and apply applicable laws and regulations. • Knowledge of organizational structure and resource utilization. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI) and GIS applications.

Benefits
PG&E provides a salary range specific to the job locality, with a California minimum of $78,000, a mid‑point of $104,000, and a maximum of $118,000. Actual pay will consider skills, education, certifications, experience, market value, location, and internal equity, and the position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation programs.
