Job Highlights
About the Role
• Design in line with fire strategy reports, local building regulations and planning authority requirements. • Attend design team meetings. • Conduct site surveys of existing installations where applicable. • Produce heating/cooling thermal modelling and ventilation load calculations using industry software. • Calculate and size above‑ground drainage systems. • Size and select domestic hot and cold‑water equipment such as heaters and storage tanks. • Perform pipe and duct sizing calculations using industry software or spreadsheets. • Prepare stage reports and presentations. • Create Designer Risk Assessment and Mitigation Reports. • Detail mechanical layouts and schematics for construction. • Meet project delivery deadlines and produce detailed design and survey reports.

What You Bring
Due to continued growth, we are now looking to hire an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer in Wolverhampton. You will be joining an experienced team, in a predominantly office based role, and be responsible for developing and delivering mechanical designs to facilitate safe and compliant installations on site. • Size and select AHUs, FCUs, extract fans, pumps, chillers, ASHPs, boilers, plate heat exchangers, etc. • Size and select firefighting sprinkler and pumping systems (preferred but not essential). • Extensive experience in mechanical engineering building services for construction. • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification. • Strong knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS & EN Irish, UK standards or ASHRAE. • Proficiency with design software such as Hevacomp, Carrier HAP, CyMap, IES/TAS. • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment. • Strong communication skills.
