About the Role
The engineer will use design software to support graduate and assistant engineers, conduct inspections of constructed works, and ensure compliance with design specifications. Responsibilities include preparing technical reports of high presentation quality, reviewing the work of the project team, and briefing members on procedures. The role also involves developing niche technical capabilities and applying Atkins’ Quality, Safety & Environmental standards and Business Management System. • Provide design support and mentorship to junior engineers using Civil 3D and related software. • Conduct inspections and compliance checks of constructed highway works, recommending remedial actions. • Produce high‑quality technical reports and presentations. • Review and verify project team deliverables to ensure adherence to procedures. • Develop niche technical capabilities and apply Atkins QSE standards and BMS. • Lead junior engineers and CAD technicians effectively. • Access employee wellbeing resources covering finance, legal, health, fitness, and nutrition.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a civil engineering degree from a reputable institute and possess at least six years of highway design experience, including open‑road and in‑road projects. Proficiency in Civil 3D and familiarity with DMRB/AASHT standards are required, together with strong written and verbal English skills. Experience leading junior engineers and CAD technicians, as well as delivering feasibility and detailed design studies, is essential. • Hold a civil engineering degree from a reputable institute. • Possess at least six years of highway design experience, including open‑road and in‑road projects. • Demonstrate proficiency in Civil 3D and knowledge of DMRB/AASHT standards. • Exhibit strong written and verbal English communication skills.
