About the Role

• Manage overall financial health of projects, including projections, cost codes, invoices, and monthly owner billings. • Oversee budget, select trade partners and suppliers, handle billings, contract management, and 3‑D coordination and commissioning. • Lead project closeout activities such as operations and maintenance manuals, model turnover, and training. • Supervise Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s) with job assignments, career development, and performance feedback. • Serve as primary contact with owner and on‑site representative, resolve site concerns and build positive relationships. • Manage change orders, determine submission timing, and obtain customer/architect approval. • Maintain schedule and budget through completion, providing high‑level oversight of quality, risk, safety, and compliance. • Build relationships with diverse stakeholders and lead team members by example, offering coaching and feedback.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking a MEP Project Manager II who will lead MEP‑dominant projects or scopes on medium to large constructions, ensuring quality, timeliness, safety, mentoring staff and strengthening client relationships. Mortenson offers equal employment opportunity, values diverse perspectives, and requires candidates to be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. • Minimum seven years of construction management experience, preferably with a mechanical or electrical contractor. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%. • Detail‑oriented with ability to manage multiple project tasks and understand construction law basics. • Proficient in Microsoft Office, project software and relevant web applications. • Strong customer service, active listening, and communication skills, including openness to diverse input. • Knowledge of Mortenson policies, EEO, inclusive behaviors and affirmative action plans.

Benefits

The position requires travel up to 100% and offers a base pay range from $132,100 to $198,200, with city adjustments for Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C.; the role is also eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
