About the Role

Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant ensures the accuracy, integrity, and analysis of cost and inventory‑related financial information. The role supports sound financial decision‑making through reliable cost accounting practices, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and continuous‑improvement initiatives, and works closely with Operations, Procurement, Finance, and corporate teams. This hybrid position is based in Candiac. • Maintain and update standard costs, rate models, and overhead allocation methodologies • Analyze production, material price, labor, and overhead variances and manufacturing efficiencies • Execute and post costing runs in SAP; support periodic physical inventory counts and variance analysis • Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements; perform general ledger reconciliations • Record cost accounting, inventory, and month‑end journal entries; support close processes • Assist internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to requests • Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting, preparing cost plans and variance analysis • Provide costing estimates, financial analysis, and ad‑hoc reports to guide business decisions • Participate in cross‑functional projects to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting quality • Manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment • Communicate effectively across functions and uphold high ethical standards and data confidentiality

What You Bring

Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, a CPA designation (preferred or in progress), and at least five years of progressive accounting or cost‑accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Candidates must have proven ERP experience (SAP preferred), strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills, and be bilingual in English and French. Core competencies emphasize a strong understanding of cost accounting and manufacturing finance principles, excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, high attention to detail, and the capacity to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
