About the Role
The Lead CFD/Wind Engineer will head the established Computational Fluid Mechanics/Dynamics team, steering technical excellence across a diverse portfolio of complex projects in Buildings/Defence, Water and Transport. Reporting into the national Engineering Sciences team, the role involves close work with existing and new clients, ensuring high‑quality, on‑time delivery while pursuing new growth opportunities. In this senior leadership position you will champion innovation by leveraging KBR’s in‑house cloud‑based high‑performance computing facility and a suite of advanced software tools, while engaging with industry through conferences, technical papers and thought leadership. You will also mentor junior engineers, collaborate across disciplines and expand the team’s capability in both physical and computational modelling. • Lead a high‑performing CFD/Wind engineering team within KBR’s national Engineering Sciences group. • Deliver complex fluid mechanics projects across Buildings/Defence, Water and Transport sectors on time and to high quality standards. • Drive technical innovation by exploring new research directions and utilising KBR’s cloud‑based high‑performance computing facilities. • Represent the team at industry conferences, publish technical papers and contribute to thought leadership. • Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering collaboration across physical and computational modelling disciplines. • Build and grow client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and supporting business development.

What You Bring
• Hold post‑graduate qualifications (PhD or Masters) and extensive consulting experience in cross‑sector projects. • Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, develop people and operate in a national leadership capacity. • Expertise in physical and computational modelling of gas and liquid systems, including multiphase flows. • Proficient with OpenFOAM, FastEDDY, ANSYS and other CFD tools, as well as cloud‑based HPC environments. • Strong coding and scripting skills to automate modelling workflows. • Eligible to obtain Defence security clearance.
