About the Role

The Leadman role supports the Shift Supervisor by supervising shift operations across all departments and handling technical matters. This position ensures quality work, on‑time deliveries, and minimal expenditures while embodying passion, integrity, continuous improvement, and results‑orientation. The Leadman also actively participates in site safety and complies with all Valmont safety policies and governmental environmental regulations. Reporting directly to the Shift Supervisors, the Leadman is accountable for steel fabrication operations and overall shift production. Responsibilities include keeping labor and material costs low, ensuring 100% acceptable quality, and maintaining on‑time deliveries in a safe, orderly environment. The Leadman trains, evaluates, and directs shift employees, manages staffing levels for manufacturing, finishing, and shipping, and oversees shop‑floor control, labor and material reporting, and equipment maintenance. He also analyzes setup times, enforces quality expectations, promotes a hazard‑free workplace, and drives Lean Manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste. • Supervise shift operations across all departments and support the Shift Supervisor. • Ensure on‑time deliveries, 100% quality compliance, and cost‑effective labor and material usage. • Lead safety initiatives, enforce Valmont safety policies, and maintain a hazard‑free work environment. • Direct, train, and evaluate shift employees to meet production objectives and manage staffing levels. • Oversee shop‑floor control, labor and material reporting, and equipment maintenance during the shift. • Implement Lean Manufacturing practices and identify waste reduction opportunities.

What You Bring

Candidates should possess an Associate Degree in Industrial Manufacturing or 3‑5 years of managerial experience, a welding background, and strong leadership and communication skills. The role requires the ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment in a supervisory capacity, as well as strong analytical and decision‑making abilities. Preferred qualifications include a solid understanding of Valmont’s manufacturing processes and Lean Manufacturing training. • Required: Associate Degree in Industrial Manufacturing or 3‑5 years managerial experience, welding background, strong leadership and communication skills. • Preferred: Knowledge of Valmont’s manufacturing processes and Lean Manufacturing training.
