About the Role

• Assist in meeting department goals and serve as the link between engineering/architectural and administrative program areas. • Manage and review multiple small to medium complex sustainability projects throughout planning, design, and construction, including EV charging stations, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable HVAC systems. • Work closely with multiple client agencies to manage project development, budgets, and schedules. • Coordinate with local, state, federal agencies and municipalities to obtain approvals. • Schedule, coordinate, review, and provide project management for both in‑house and consultant work. • Consult with architects, engineers, estimators, specification writers, building construction program managers, and client agencies. • Independently resolve problems that arise. • Support various OGS D&C projects by providing sustainability and resiliency expertise. • Lead and implement internal protocol tracking for energy efficiency projects and low‑impact design. • Present to internal staff and external stakeholders on OGS D&C climate‑related initiatives. • Attend conferences and develop relationships with industry leaders. • Promote and communicate sustainability initiatives with internal staff and client agencies. • Supervise lower‑level engineers and technical staff. • Provide technical assistance to other divisions within OGS D&C.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in architecture, building science, engineering, construction technology, or a related field; a master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience. A minimum of three years’ experience managing large‑scale construction or rehabilitation projects, strong knowledge of construction documents, and proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel are required. Additional assets include LEED or Envision certification, an EIT or NY professional engineering license, and demonstrated interest in sustainability and resiliency.

Benefits

The position offers a salary range of $75,000 to $95,000 per year and includes a comprehensive benefits package with health insurance and a positive work environment. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, as visa sponsorship is not available.
