About the Role
The specialist collates findings from fire risk assessments performed by others, assigns remedial actions to responsible parties and authorises associated costs under the manager’s direction. They also conduct scheduled audits of fire management documentation and support the delivery of the company’s fire management service across identified locations. This work helps demonstrate SPUK compliance with fire legislation. Key duties include tracking the progress of fire‑risk recommendations via a web‑portal system, producing monthly status reports, and providing specialist advice on emerging fire risks such as electric vehicles, solar installations and battery storage. The role audits owned and occupied premises, monitors fire‑safety system maintenance, and supports post‑fire incident investigations and business continuity plans. Interaction with internal site managers, SFLOs and external enforcing authorities is also required. • Collate and assign remedial actions from fire risk assessments, authorising costs under manager direction. • Track and report progress of fire risk recommendation implementations via the web portal and monthly reports. • Conduct fire safety audits of owned and occupied premises, ensuring compliance with legislation and recommending remedial actions. • Provide specialist advice on fire risks related to emerging technologies such as EVs, solar and battery storage. • Support post‑fire incident investigations, engage with enforcing authorities and assist in business continuity/disaster recovery activities.

What You Bring
The role requires a solid understanding of current fire legislation, fire protection systems and risk‑assessment methodology, together with strong stakeholder‑management and IT skills. Minimum qualifications are a Fire Risk Assessment certification (Level 4) or equivalent, with NEBOSH Fire or similar credentials considered advantageous. A full UK driving licence and the ability to influence and challenge at all organisational levels are essential. • Apply knowledge of current fire legislation, fire protection systems and risk assessment practices. • Hold Fire Risk Assessment certification (Level 4) or equivalent; NEBOSH Fire qualification is advantageous. • Demonstrate strong IT, organisational, influencing and stakeholder‑management skills; hold a full UK driving licence.
