About the Role

• Lead mechanical design and serve as project manager for building systems projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. • Develop and review construction documents, technical specifications, and cost estimates. • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements (e.g., ASHRAE, local building codes). • Manage project scope, schedule, and budgets for assigned projects. • Serve as primary point of contact for select projects, building and maintaining strong client relationships. • Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary design teams, including internal civil, structural, and electrical staff. • Oversee construction administration activities, including submittal review, RFI responses, and site visits. • Lead and participate in internal and external project meetings, maintaining clear communication with clients, consultants, and contractors. • Support proposal development, level-of-effort estimating, and project planning. • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development within the mechanical team. • Regular team‑building activities, happy hours, and company outings.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate is a seasoned mechanical engineer with strong technical expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, a passion for mentoring junior staff, and the ability to manage projects from concept through construction. This role combines hands‑on engineering, project leadership, and client engagement in a collaborative, forward‑thinking environment. The role requires a Professional Engineer license, at least ten years of experience designing building systems, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, with strong knowledge of applicable codes and ASHRAE standards. The position is hybrid, offering in‑office collaboration and remote flexibility, and involves occasional travel to job sites in MA, CT, and RI. • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field. • Professional Engineer (PE) license. • 10+ years of mechanical engineering design experience for building systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection). • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for MEP design. • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems, building codes, and ASHRAE standards. • Experience managing projects through design and construction phases. • Excellent written and verbal communication and collaborative skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Familiarity with BIM coordination tools (preferred). • Ability to travel 1–2 days per week to job sites in MA, CT, and RI.
