About the Role
As a Substation Engineer, you will leverage and expand your academic engineering background while working on project teams that design new high‑voltage and extra‑high‑voltage substations and transmission systems. The role involves power transmission design, preparing specifications for the procurement of major electrical equipment and related installation services, and may require travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews as well as site visits for construction coordination and field verification. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two days remote, plus a generous relocation package depending on location. • Design high‑voltage and extra‑high‑voltage substations and transmission systems • Prepare specifications for procurement of major electrical equipment and installation services • Conduct design reviews at client/vendor sites and perform field verification during construction • Collaborate with engineering teams in a hybrid work setting (3 days on‑site, 2 days remote) • Provide relocation assistance based on candidate location

What You Bring
The position requires a Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with strong coursework in electrical power concepts and AC power systems analysis, as well as an understanding of practical electrical engineering applications. Candidates must be knowledgeable about design techniques, tools, and principles for creating technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models, be proficient with MS Office, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Valued but not required qualifications include an ABET‑accredited degree, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and Engineer‑in‑Training designation, and related internship or co‑op experience. • Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with AC power systems coursework • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design techniques, and technical drawing production • Proficiency with MS Office and strong written/verbal communication • Preferred: ABET‑accredited degree, FE exam passed, Engineer‑in‑Training designation, internship/co‑op experience
