Responsibilities include reviewing and preparing structural reports and modification designs for various telecom projects such as mount and tower analyses, water tanks, silos, and concealment structures; ensuring compliance with QA/QC policies by preparing reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, permits, and other contract documents; and providing technical assistance and supervision to the management team in proposals, expressions of interest, and contracts. • Review and prepare structural reports and modification designs for telecom infrastructure. • Ensure QA/QC compliance for reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, permits, and contracts. • Support management with technical assistance for proposals, expressions of interest, and contract preparation. • Operate telecom‑specific 3D software (RISA 3D, TNX Tower) and adopt tools like AutoCAD and Revit. • Train junior engineers and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced setting.

What You Bring
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Technical Specialist II for its Telecom team, requiring an active Illinois SE professional license and offering remote work flexibility. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (structural focus preferred), have at least 10 years of related experience with a minimum of 3 years on telecom structures, and possess an Illinois SE licensure. Proficiency in telecom‑specific 3D structural software (e.g., RISA 3D, TNX Tower) is required, with additional analysis tools considered a plus; the role also demands the ability to adopt new technologies such as AutoCAD and Revit, train junior engineers, manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment, and demonstrate strong technical writing, presentation, and supervisory skills. Additional requirements include English proficiency, a pre‑employment drug screen, and ongoing motor vehicle record monitoring. • Hold a B.S. in civil engineering (structural focus) and Illinois SE licensure. • Possess 10+ years of experience, including ≥3 years on telecom structures. • Demonstrate strong technical writing, presentation, and supervisory skills. • Meet pre‑employment drug screening and motor‑vehicle‑record requirements.
