Lead creation and management of transport business cases to secure public funding
Job Highlights
About the Role
The Business Case Advisory team supports local authorities, combined authorities, National Highways, the DfT and other national and regional clients, helping them secure funding and navigate changing policy, funding and appraisal landscapes. Team members work across the UK and collaborate with specialist groups such as Net Zero, Future Mobility and Transport Communications. • Manage technical delivery of high‑quality business cases to unlock public‑sector funding for transport infrastructure and operations. • Project manage business‑case projects in line with company business‑management systems. • Lead development and assurance of Commercial and Management Cases following HM Treasury’s Green Book and DfT guidance. • Oversee technical and commercial responses for bid opportunities, including bid/no‑bid decisions. • Use creative thinking to provide pragmatic, technically‑informed advice that meets client needs. • Deliver projects on time, within budget and to required quality standards. • Apply strong work‑winning skills to manage bids, guide responses and comply with business management systems. • Build trusted client relationships through confident engagement and represent WSP positively. • Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues across the UK, India and the wider business. • Support colleague development through formal and informal knowledge sharing. • Foster inclusivity and belonging via employee resource groups and a culture that welcomes diverse backgrounds. • Deliver health and wellbeing programmes including Thrive, virtual GP access, Gymflex discounts and menopause support.
