About the Role

Caterpillar is seeking a Senior Production Manager to oversee day‑to‑day operations of one or more manufacturing production lines across all shifts. The role involves managing staffing, development and performance programs for operations staff, as well as motivating and developing the management team. The manager is responsible for ensuring safety, schedule adherence, performance targets, and effective use of system resources. Key duties include monitoring overall operations performance, implementing production safety, cost and quality control mechanisms, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory guidelines to create a safe manufacturing environment. • Manage staffing, development, and performance programs for operations staff. • Motivate and develop the management team across all shifts. • Oversee daily operations to meet safety, schedule, and performance targets. • Implement production safety, cost, and quality control mechanisms. • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and maintain a safe manufacturing environment. • Deliver formal and informal training on safe, efficient operation of production machinery. • Conduct needs analysis, develop training programs, and measure training effectiveness. • Identify, document, and resolve organizational or process problems using diagnostic tools. • Apply analytical techniques (flow charts, Pareto, fishbone) to determine root causes. • Plan and organize tasks, monitor progress, and create action plans. • Communicate effectively with all levels, providing feedback and adapting messages.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate brings extensive production training experience, the ability to design and deliver formal and informal training on machinery operation, and skill in conducting needs analyses and measuring training outcomes. Strong problem‑solving abilities, flexibility to adapt to change, analytical thinking using tools such as flow charts, Pareto and fishbone diagrams, and excellent planning and organizing capabilities are also required.
