Job Highlights
About the Role
The ELV Engineer at Schneider Electric in Navi Mumbai is tasked with designing, implementing, operating, and continuously improving robust, scalable telecommunications systems that meet the high‑availability and performance demands of the oil‑and‑gas and broader energy sectors while adhering to industry standards, safety regulations and sustainability goals. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role covers the end‑to‑end engineering of extra‑low‑voltage subsystems such as CCTV, access‑control, public‑address and voice‑alarm, IP telephony, structured cabling and optical transmission, ensuring all solutions are safe, high‑quality, delivered on schedule and fully compliant with applicable codes and OEM guidelines. The position is site‑based with travel to project locations, requiring flexibility for after‑hours cut‑overs, testing and emergency response, and involves close coordination with civil, electrical, HSE, IT teams and external vendors. • Gather requirements, conduct site surveys, and create high‑level and detailed ELV designs, BOMs, and AutoCAD/Visio drawings. • Select equipment, develop network topology (VLANs, PoE sizing) and perform coverage studies using tools such as iBwave, EKaHu, JVSG, EASE, CADNAR, and Pathloss. • Coordinate with civil, electrical, HVAC, IT and safety teams to ensure interface compliance with codes (NBC India, IS/IEC, NFPA). • Configure, integrate and test ELV subsystems (CCTV VMS/NVR, access control, PA/BGM, intercom, IPTV, IP‑PBX, visitor management, parking/ANPR) and conduct SAT/UAT. • Produce daily site reports, manage change requests, punch‑list items and ensure timely closure. • Recommend value‑engineered, cost‑effective designs; optimize storage, network QoS, and power consumption. • Deliver approved HLD/LLD, BOQ, method statements, as‑built documentation, and preventive‑maintenance SOPs. • Meet KPIs: on‑time delivery, defect‑density, system uptime, MTTR, audit compliance, and cost variance control.
