What You Bring

The successful candidate will thrive on variety, enjoy problem-solving, and contribute to a team that prioritises safety, quality and collaboration. You will be expected to service, repair and maintain heavy equipment, resolve breakdowns in the field and uphold Downer’s high operational standards, both independently and as part of a skilled crew. Applicants must hold a trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Plant Mechanics or Fitting, possess strong hydraulic and diagnostic knowledge, and have experience with mobile plant, trucks and heavy equipment. Auto-electrical skills are highly regarded, while HR and forklift licences are desirable; a proactive attitude and commitment to safety are essential. • Diagnose and resolve field breakdowns • Hold a trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Plant Mechanics, or Fitting (essential) • Strong hydraulic knowledge and diagnostic skills • Experience with mobile plant, trucks, and heavy equipment • Auto‑electrical experience (highly regarded) • HR and forklift licences (desirable) • Proactive approach and commitment to safety
