About the Role
The Industrial Machinist is responsible for installing, assembling, dismantling, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of machinery, from small engines and motors to complex industrial equipment such as ball mills, turbines, and hydraulic systems. • Operate engine lathes, grinders, files; fabricate parts through measuring, cutting, drilling, and welding. • Use rigging and hoisting devices (chokers, chain falls, come‑alongs) and cranes to position equipment. • Conduct preventative maintenance such as lubrication and repair of worn components.

What You Bring
The role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and engineering specifications, as well as technical manuals, in order to determine appropriate work procedures and use industrial hand and power tools effectively. Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills are essential, alongside the capability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team, while adhering to safety standards and company values. Physical demands include extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 lb, occasional work at heights, exposure to outdoor weather conditions, and the mandatory use of personal protective equipment. • 4‑5 years of industrial mechanical experience, including rebuilding agitators and pumps. • Proficient in industrial machinery installation, repair, and maintenance using hand and power tools. • Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, engineering specifications, and technical manuals. • Skilled in dismantling and assembling equipment, fastening machinery to foundations with bolts, welds, or rivets. • Knowledge of load properties of cables, ropes, hoists, and chains; understanding of math, geometry, and layout. • Demonstrated problem‑solving ability, manual dexterity, organization, time management, and communication skills. • Capable of leading others, providing detailed instructions, and working independently with minimal supervision. • Reliable transportation and availability to work 7 days as needed, up to 12 hours per day. • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, lift/move up to 50 lb, work at heights, and endure outdoor conditions. • Must wear required PPE: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear protection, respirator, safety vest, gloves, steel‑toe boots. • Preferred: NCCER Journeyman Industrial Millwright certification; former Zachry employee; basic computer proficiency; formal technical education.
