About the Role
As a Cost Manager within our Education sector team at Arcadis, you will deliver high‑quality cost and commercial management services to schools, colleges, universities, and education trusts. You will manage project costs, ensure value for money, and support the delivery of inspiring, sustainable learning environments. By collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will help shape the future of education infrastructure across the UK. • Deliver cost management services across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and cost planning through to final account • Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans for educational building and refurbishment projects • Lead and support the procurement process, evaluating tenders and advising on contractor selection • Monitor project progress, track costs, and report on variances to ensure projects remain within budget • Provide advice on value engineering, risk management, and contractual matters • Prepare and present financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and recommendations to clients and project teams • Support the preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts • Engage and collaborate with clients, design teams, contractors, and other stakeholders • Promote best practice, innovation, and digital solutions in cost management • Mentor and support junior team members, sharing knowledge and expertise

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or a related field • Working towards or achieved MRICS (or equivalent professional qualification) • Experience in cost management for education sector projects or similar technically complex buildings • Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills • Ability to work collaboratively within multi‑disciplinary teams • Proficiency with relevant digital tools (e.g., CostX, Excel, BIM, Power BI) • Understanding of UK construction contracts and procurement processes
