About the Role
CivilGrid aggregates public and proprietary utility, geotechnical, environmental, and jurisdictional data, delivering it through a collaborative SaaS mapping platform. Engineers and developers use the real‑time data to make early‑stage decisions on real‑estate and infrastructure projects, reducing labor, project delays, and risk while improving information flow and insight retention. The Data team uncovers and manages the foundational datasets behind the CivilGrid app. This role is a key early hire for a new group focused on delivering insights from engineering record drawings and as‑builts, and it requires strong operational and utility‑engineering expertise in a fast‑moving startup. • Lead and coordinate digitization tasks and workflows, aligning timelines and priorities with stakeholders. • Provide detailed markup and interpretation of utility engineering records and as‑builts. • Conduct quality assurance on digitized deliverables. • Manage subcontractors, internal teams, and customers to ensure smooth project execution and scalable processes. • Collaborate with Data and Customer Success leadership to refine operational processes.

What You Bring
• Minimum 2 years project‑management experience in subsurface utility engineering (SUE). • Preferable background as a field technician or utilities research coordinator. • Proficiency with project‑management tools (task tracking, stakeholder reporting, timeline management). • Ability to interpret civil‑engineering plans, record drawings, and as‑builts. • Comfortable using GIS or CAD software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, or MicroStation. • Process‑driven, organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work remotely with minimal supervision.
