About the Role

The Operations Supervisor – Hauling Operations leads collection activities across commercial, residential, roll‑off, and container services within a geographically dispersed area. Reporting to the Operations and General Managers, the supervisor guides drivers and helpers, implements tactical initiatives, and drives functional excellence and budget achievement while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory and ethical standards. Safety is a core focus; the supervisor communicates safety goals, removes unsafe conditions from routes, collaborates with sales on new routes, and partners with maintenance to keep equipment compliant. They oversee accident‑prevention programs, foster a culture of safety through active employee participation, and maintain loss‑control measures to protect workers and assets. In the customer‑experience domain, the supervisor ensures service meets or exceeds expectations, monitors missed‑pickup metrics, resolves equipment breakdowns and schedule changes, and communicates promptly with stakeholders. They act as a positive company representative, addressing issues to boost satisfaction and loyalty. Efficiency responsibilities include setting productivity goals, managing labor hours and disposal expenses, and leading drivers to exceed targets. The supervisor optimizes routes for density, reduces route hours via service conversions and container upsizing, and supports fleet maintenance to achieve budgeted division goals.
