About the Role

Colliers Engineering & Design seeks a Project Manager for the Planning Discipline in New Jersey. The role involves directing staff and managing scope, schedule, quality, and budget across planning projects. The team includes planners, urban designers, and landscape architects delivering multidisciplinary solutions. The Project Manager will develop work plans and budgets, monitor timelines and costs, and lead public and coordination meetings. They will oversee preparation of master plans, ensure quality control, achieve profit and productivity targets, and support business development. Coordination, client negotiations, billing oversight, and mentoring junior staff are also key duties. • Create and obtain approval for work plans and labor budgets. • Track project schedules and capital cost budgets to meet client expectations. • Lead public, night, and coordination meetings with stakeholders. • Supervise preparation of master plans, land‑use plans, zoning codes, and related reports. • Implement quality control/quality assurance processes on all assignments. • Meet profit, productivity, and delivery schedule targets. • Contribute to proposal development and cross‑disciplinary business development. • Define project teams, work packages, evaluation methods, and deliverable timelines. • Conduct regular team meetings to ensure review and approval procedures are followed. • Negotiate scope changes with clients, subject to supervisory approval. • Coordinate communication across project staff to maintain high utilization rates. • Review monthly revenue and cost reports to ensure goal alignment. • Collaborate with Billing to issue invoices and follow up on client payments. • Mentor junior staff in technical and business practices. • Adhere to health, safety, and operational standard procedures.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), have 6‑10+ years of planning experience, and possess Professional Planner licensure with AICP certification. Proficiency with GIS, Office and Adobe suites, strong analytical and writing skills, and the ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams are required. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel are advantageous. • Hold a Professional Planner license and AICP certification. • Possess 6‑10+ years of planning experience. • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, and ArcGIS. • Demonstrate strong analytical, research, and technical writing abilities.
