About the Role

Technicians travel to job sites and use company‑provided specialized equipment to accurately identify, locate, and mark all underground utilities and structures, including abandoned facilities, chemical transport lines, and other exotic utilities, regardless of ownership or type. They troubleshoot using industry knowledge, advanced observational skills, and attention to detail to ensure safety and accuracy, while communicating professionally with site contacts, customers, and co‑workers to ensure a smooth, safe, and complete locating process. • Travel to job sites and accurately locate/mark underground utilities using specialized equipment. • Troubleshoot and ensure safety with advanced observational and problem‑solving skills. • Maintain professional communication with site contacts, customers, and coworkers. • Deliver reliable, high‑quality results to uphold Blood Hound’s reputation.

What You Bring

We are seeking motivated Advanced Locate Technicians who take pride in their craft and want to grow with a company that rewards results. In this role you will use advanced tools, problem‑solving skills, and field expertise to locate and mark underground utilities with precision. The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience as a public or private utility locator, with proven accuracy and professionalism; experience with an engineering or SUE firm is a plus. Strong communication and customer‑service skills, proficiency with Windows‑based computers and Microsoft Office, and a willingness to learn new procedures and technologies are required. Candidates must uphold Blood Hound’s core values of safety, pride, integrity, respect, and excellence, manage workload independently, be available for daily travel, overtime, and occasional overnight travel, and pass a fit‑to‑work physical. • Minimum 2 years experience as a public or private utility locator; engineering/SUE firm experience a plus. • Proven ability to locate multiple utility types in varied environments. • Strong communication, customer‑service, and Windows/Microsoft Office proficiency. • Willingness to learn new procedures and technologies. • Ability to manage workload independently, travel daily, and work overtime or overnight as needed. • Pass a fit‑to‑work physical.
