About the Role

Key responsibilities include liaising with court officials, ensuring sufficient resources in court and custody areas, inspecting operations for compliance, and maintaining high‑standard service delivery while safeguarding staff and persons in custody. The manager will also verify warrants, check security systems, maintain emergency procedures, monitor incident report submissions, set objectives for direct reports, represent Ventia at court user group meetings, and foster an inclusive, discrimination‑free workplace. • Liaise with court officials to meet contractual requirements. • Ensure adequate resources in court and custody areas. • Inspect and monitor court operations for compliance. • Deliver high‑standard service while safeguarding staff and persons in custody. • Verify warrants according to documented procedures. • Check court premises and security systems for effectiveness and tidiness. • Maintain emergency procedures and ensure staff awareness. • Monitor timely submission of incident reports. • Set clear direction and objectives for direct reports. • Represent Ventia at Court User Group meetings. • Promote a diverse, inclusive, discrimination‑free workplace. • Interpret legislation and produce clear reports. • Maintain high safety and security awareness.

What You Bring

The position requires a Certificate III or IV in Corrective Practice or a related field, control and restraint qualification, senior first aid/CPR, strong computer and report‑writing skills, and proven leadership experience. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to interpret legislation, work collaboratively, have escort custody operational experience, high safety awareness, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents, able to obtain AFP, criminal history and Working with Children checks, complete a six‑week full‑time training in Perth, undergo a pre‑employment medical and drug/alcohol test, and hold a manual driver’s licence (HR, MR or F Extension desirable). Willingness to travel and maintain adequate fitness for the role are also required. • Hold Certificate III/IV in Corrective Practice or related field. • Be Control and Restraint qualified and hold Senior First Aid/CPR. • Demonstrate strong leadership and collaborative management experience. • Experience in escort custody operational environments. • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Australian citizen or permanent resident with ability to obtain AFP, criminal history and Working with Children checks. • Complete 6‑week full‑time training in Perth (flights/accommodation provided). • Undergo pre‑employment medical, drug and alcohol testing. • Hold a manual driver’s licence (HR, MR or F Extension desirable). • Willingness to travel by road and air and maintain fitness for role.
