About the Role

The Ethics and Compliance Officer – South Asia reports to the Ethics and Compliance Manager and is part of the Legal, Ethics & Compliance department. Based in Gurgaon, the officer will implement, monitor and strengthen the company’s ethics and compliance framework throughout South Asia, ensuring adherence to both local and international laws, regulations and internal policies while fostering a culture of integrity. The role requires close collaboration with executive and regional leadership, business units, bid managers and project teams to embed compliance into tendering and delivery processes, deliver training, conduct risk assessments, oversee third‑party due diligence and manage internal audits and investigations. The officer will also maintain documentation, produce regular reports for senior management and regulators, and act as the regional point of contact for all compliance‑related queries. • Implement and monitor ethics and compliance initiatives across South Asia, aligning with local regulations, global standards, and French/EU frameworks. • Monitor regulatory developments in the region and assess their impact on business operations. • Collaborate with executive and regional leadership to harmonize compliance strategies and support business growth. • Work with bid managers and project teams to address compliance issues during tenders and delivery. • Administer and enforce policies on anti‑bribery, data protection, trade compliance, and conduct training and awareness programs. • Provide advice to bid teams on ethics and compliance matters for specific proposals. • Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures. • Support internal audits and investigations related to compliance matters. • Implement third‑party due diligence processes and ensure vendors and partners meet contractual and regulatory obligations. • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and prepare periodic reports for senior management and regulators. • Serve as the regional point of contact for compliance queries and escalations, collaborating with Legal, HR, Finance, and Operations. • Ensure internal audits and investigations are transparent and accountable in line with local laws and French standards.

What You Bring

• Maintain practical knowledge of anti‑bribery, anti‑corruption, AML laws and International Financial Institution compliance programs. • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business or related field; Master’s or professional certification (e.g., CCEP, ICA) preferred. • 6–8 years of experience in compliance, legal or regulatory roles, preferably in multinational environments. • Current knowledge of regulatory landscapes in India, Bangladesh, Nepal and French/UK/US anti‑bribery, corruption and money‑laundering laws. • Proven experience developing, managing and delivering ethics and compliance programs and third‑party screening tools across diverse jurisdictions. • Strong communication, analytical and stakeholder‑management skills. • Detailed understanding of legal, regulatory and compliance frameworks affecting South Asia and the EU, and of International Financial Institution compliance programs. • Ability to design and deliver tailored training campaigns, manage projects, and work both independently and collaboratively.
