About the Role

Intern responsibilities are divided between field and office tasks. Field duties include preparing submittals, maintaining records, reviewing plans, overseeing quality control, generating daily reports, conducting site surveys, managing subcontractors, and handling equipment and material logistics. Office duties involve assisting with cost estimates, proposals, material take‑offs, analyzing remediation methods, performing administrative work, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. • Prepare project submittals and maintain record documents • Review contract plans and specifications for technical compliance • Document and oversee project quality control per contract and company policies • Produce daily construction reports and track project progress • Conduct site surveying and interpret survey data • Manage subcontractors and coordinate field activities • Assist with procurement or rental of equipment and materials • Support Project Manager with daily cost reporting and tracking • Travel to project sites for extended durations as needed • Assist in developing cost estimates, proposals, and material take‑offs • Analyze remediation methodologies for previously completed projects • Perform additional administrative duties and adhere to applicable regulations • Evaluate risks, resolve challenges, champion safety, and ensure high‑quality standards

What You Bring

The Project Engineer Intern position is open to students pursuing degrees in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields. Interns apply foundational knowledge of physical sciences, mathematics, and specialized topics such as soil mechanics, hydraulics, structural theory, and surveying while assisting in the execution of projects within budget, schedule, and contract specifications. They also help uphold the company’s safety culture in line with established policies. Candidates must be working toward a BS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent program and possess a valid driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, USACE QCS, site surveying (conventional and GPS), cost estimate development, in‑situ stabilization projects, and materials procurement. The role requires a self‑motivated individual who can work independently, prioritize tasks, evaluate risks, and maintain high safety and quality standards. Physical demands include frequent computer use, extended periods of standing or walking on site, and exposure to heavy equipment, chemicals, dust, uneven terrain, and extreme weather, with required PPE. • Utilize Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel proficiently • Hold a valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive for company business • Pursue a BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent field • Prefer experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and USACE QCS • Prefer experience in conventional and GPS site surveying • Prefer background in in‑situ stabilization projects and materials procurement • Demonstrate self‑motivation, independent work capability, and task prioritization
