About the Role
In this client‑facing role you will lead the technical delivery of schemes, manage multidisciplinary inputs, build trusted client relationships, and act as project technical lead and reviewer, while supporting the team to achieve project goals. • Lead day‑to‑day technical delivery of highway consultancy projects from feasibility to construction. • Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary inputs on projects of varying scale and value. • Liaise with clients, build trusted relationships, and proactively manage expectations. • Act as project technical lead and reviewer, ensuring design quality. • Prepare fee proposals, manage project budgets and monitor costs. • Lead the production of design drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and tender packages. • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental legislation and internal quality standards. • Coordinate team resources, set up project teams and allocate appropriate roles. • Manage change on tasks/projects, communicating impacts on programme, cost and quality.

What You Bring
WSP is seeking enthusiastic engineers at grades from Assistant Engineer to Principal Engineer to join the Roads team in Scotland, delivering highway consultancy services across the project lifecycle. Candidates should have strong knowledge of highway design and drainage, experience with road geometry, junctions, active travel and related design codes, and be capable of using software such as Autodesk Civil 3D or Bentley OpenRoads. The position requires chartered or incorporated civil engineering status, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to manage change, budgets, health & safety compliance and resource coordination. • Demonstrate expertise in highway design, drainage, road geometry, junctions and active travel. • Proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer or similar design software. • Possess strong communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills. • Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards it). • Thorough knowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets, TSRGD and other relevant design codes. • Experience complying with Designers’ Duties under CDM regulations.
