About the Role
The Electrical Estimator role, based in Westchester, NY, supports the pre‑construction phase by delivering accurate, competitive cost estimates for diverse electrical projects. The position works closely with bid teams, vendors, and internal engineering staff to ensure proposals meet client requirements and drive the firm’s growth. • Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and schedules to understand scope. • Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. • Use industry software (McCormick, Bluebeam) to generate precise estimates. • Factor market conditions, labor rates, and material costs into pricing. • Collaborate with bid team to create compliant proposals. • Participate in bid meetings, presenting estimation rationale. • Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes for competitive pricing. • Build and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors. • Generate regular cost‑tracking and estimating accuracy reports. • Coordinate with engineering and project management to resolve ambiguities. • Share best practices to improve team estimating capabilities.

What You Bring
• Minimum 5 years of electrical estimating experience. • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. • Experience with estimating software such as McCormack and Bluebeam. • Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, and codes. • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and attention‑to‑detail skills. • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for teamwork and client interaction. • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. • Familiarity with local construction market and regulations (preferred). • Highly motivated team player with practical construction knowledge.
