About the Role
The role involves maintaining and operating equipment at water and wastewater facilities, troubleshooting piping, performing water quality testing, adjusting chemical treatments, and handling customer service work orders while adhering to safety policies and regulatory requirements. The operator must be able to work on‑call nights and weekends to support a 24 / 7 operation and may encounter extreme temperatures, noise, and other harsh working conditions. • Maintain and operate water production, booster, wastewater treatment, lift stations, and sewer collection equipment. • Operate and maintain distribution systems including mains, valves, hydrants, and service lines. • Troubleshoot and repair service piping and related equipment. • Perform routine water quality analysis and adjust treatment to meet state and federal standards. • Calculate chemical ratios and dosages for water and wastewater processes. • Complete customer service work orders and maintain system documentation. • Follow safety protocols and comply with local, state, and federal regulations. • Provide on‑call support nights and weekends for 24/7 operations.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and the appropriate C or B class water and wastewater licenses depending on the operator level. Experience with reverse osmosis and membrane bioreactor systems is preferred. Candidates should be comfortable using computers, tablets, and basic office software, possess strong mathematical abilities for dosage calculations, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. The position demands the ability to lift up to 75 lb and work safely in environments with mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards. • High school diploma or GED required. • Valid U.S. driver’s license required. • C Water license (FO I) or dual C Water and C Wastewater (FO II) or B or above for both (FO III) required. • Reverse osmosis (RO) and membrane bioreactor (MBR) experience preferred. • Proficient with computers, tablets, and basic office software. • Strong mathematical skills for dosage and volumetric calculations. • Excellent interpersonal and written communication abilities. • Team player capable of multitasking in a fast‑paced environment.
