About the Role
The role oversees a made‑to‑order dining operation that features crisp linen, fine china, and high‑quality fresh ingredients. Menus are seasonal and regional, offering signature dishes and daily specials, and the schedule includes no late‑night shifts to support work‑life balance. • Ensure all duties align with the community’s operating and service philosophy. • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor while on duty. • Monitor key operational indicators regularly. • Implement established policies, procedures, and performance standards. • Develop and deliver in‑service training for staff. • Participate in departmental and community meetings as directed by the Executive Director. • Preserve confidentiality and comply with local, state, federal, and accrediting regulations. • Prepare the program for regulatory inspections through audits and policy updates. • Administer, plan, and direct the food service department to provide quality food service. • Control costs and manage the department’s budget. • Oversee menu development, food preparation, purchasing, sanitation, safety, and staffing utilization. • Recruit, orient, coach, and educate kitchen staff. • Schedule kitchen personnel to optimize service quality and profitability. • Ensure equipment maintenance and cleanliness. • Monitor food purchasing and inventory. • Coordinate interdepartmental activities and advise management on food service matters. • Supervise food preparation and service workers. • Consult physicians, health‑care personnel, and dietitians to determine residents’ nutritional needs and diet restrictions. • Create special‑diet menus based on medical conditions and integrate them with standard menus. • Inspect served meals for diet compliance, palatability, and appearance. • Collaborate with the Executive Director to align menus and policies with nutritional standards, regulations, and resident satisfaction. • Establish and monitor kitchen staffing schedules. • Respond to residents’ special needs and emphasize safe food handling practices. • Work closely with the Dining Room Manager and corporate F&B team to meet SRG service standards and compliance. • Promote and support the Genuine Hospitality Program.

What You Bring
• Minimum five years of supervisory experience required. • Food service background in hospitality, country club, or senior‑living settings preferred. • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. • Proficiency with fractions, percentages, ratios, and budgeting concepts.
