About the Role
The Driver Helper works alongside the Route Driver to collect waste and recyclable materials from residential and commercial locations. This role supports efficient waste management operations by assisting with loading and unloading tasks. The Helper follows WM safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA regulations, and all applicable laws, and promptly reports unsafe conditions or service issues. They participate in required training and assist the driver to ensure timely and reliable service. • Follow WM safety, Life Critical Rules, OSHA, and all applicable laws. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, and service interruptions immediately. • Attend all required training programs, briefings, and meetings. • Load and empty residential or commercial containers manually or mechanically. • Operate hoisting devices to lift bins into the truck hopper. • Assist the driver with backing maneuvers and route navigation. • Communicate customer requests to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Perform scheduled duties and support other drivers as needed.
