About the Role
Management duties include supervising both exempt and non‑exempt staff, conducting performance evaluations, approving paid time‑off, assigning work, providing on‑the‑job training, taking disciplinary action, and interviewing candidates for open positions. • Directly supervise work crews processing materials to customer specifications safely and productively. • Analyze work orders to estimate labor hours and create schedules meeting internal and external needs. • Assign equipment and personnel to ensure efficient, timely, and cost‑effective material flow. • Calculate required stock and supplies based on production schedules and requisition materials from storage. • Interpret product specifications and job orders for workers and assign duties accordingly. • Coordinate with other departments to meet production deadlines. • Conduct quality‑control inspections to ensure compliance with standard specifications. • Establish or adjust work procedures to align with production schedules. • Develop and implement improvements to production methods, environmental compliance, equipment performance, and product quality. • Recommend changes to working conditions and equipment use to increase shop efficiency. • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in problem solving. • Maintain time and production records. • Participate in and contribute to the company safety program.
