About the Role

In this role you will be responsible for HVAC and plumbing engineering design, including load calculations, equipment selection, duct and piping layout, and preparation of project specifications. You will participate in design review meetings and workshops, resolve complex design challenges, research design options, and ensure all drawings comply with local codes and standards. Coordination with architectural and engineering disciplines is also required. • Design HVAC systems: calculate loads, select equipment, layout duct/piping, create/edit project details, write/edit specifications. • Design plumbing systems: calculate capacities and loads, layout piping, edit specifications. • Participate in design review meetings and workshops. • Resolve complex design challenges, including conflicting owner/project requirements and field conditions. • Research design options and document findings for the project team. • Ensure drawings and designs comply with local codes and standards. • Coordinate with architectural and engineering disciplines as applicable.

The ideal candidate holds a BS degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering and has 12+ years of consulting engineering experience, especially on healthcare projects for multiple client types. Professional Engineer registration is required, and knowledge of building controls is desired. Proficiency with Revit, BIM, Trane/Trace, IES, and Microsoft Office is required, and you must be in Rochester or willing to relocate (relocation assistance provided). • BS in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering. • 12+ years consulting engineering experience, with emphasis on healthcare projects. • Professional Engineer (PE) registration. • Knowledge of building controls (desired). • Proficiency with Revit, BIM, Trane/Trace, IES, and Microsoft Office. • Must be in Rochester or willing to relocate (relocation assistance provided).

The salary range is $87,100‑$119,800, based on experience, education, licensure, and skill level.
