About the Role

• Represent Parsons with clients and subcontractors, negotiate scope changes, market additional work, and follow up on project commitments. • Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and attend public meetings supporting clients. • Oversee creation of Project Execution, Health & Safety, and QA/QC plans and related documentation. • Define program requirements, monitor deliverables for compliance, and circulate a concise project overview to the team. • Plan, direct, and control all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions; assign tasks based on team strengths and contribute to performance reviews. • Mobilize resources across departments and locations to form effective project teams and coordinate facility space needs. • Collaborate with managers and engineers to develop budgets, schedules, and plans, ensuring project goals are met or exceeded. • Work with project leads to address cost overruns, delays, or scope changes, advise client and management, and maintain current change orders. • Promote technical and commercial excellence via QA processes, monitor progress and milestones, and hold weekly status meetings with action items.

Our Eastern United States design team is expanding, and we need a senior Design Manager in New York City to lead large‑scale Design‑Build projects across North America. The role focuses on Alternative Project Delivery (APD) projects, requiring experience on major APD contracts and the ability to deliver innovative designs on time and within budget. The manager will guide scope development, commercial performance, and client relationships to achieve project goals. A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or a related field) and a valid Professional Engineer license are required. Candidates must have at least 15 years of relevant experience, including proven success as a Lead Design Manager on Design‑Build projects. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on high‑profile, complex projects is essential. The incumbent must meet Parsons’ project‑management certification requirements and demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills. A thorough knowledge of industry practices, regulations, and current technologies is expected to drive smarter, more efficient project delivery.
