About the Role
The driver/operator safely operates a heavy‑duty truck on transfer routes, ensuring containers are delivered, emptied, and positioned correctly while keeping the site clean. Drivers work closely with Operations Managers and Dispatch to maintain route efficiency, report incidents, and provide exceptional service to customers. The role allows drivers to return home each night and enjoy weekends off. • Operate the truck in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards, keeping the vehicle clean and safe. • Complete pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report and report any issues promptly. • Immediately notify the Operations Manager or Dispatch of unsafe conditions, service calls, incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage. • Participate in all required training sessions, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with Operations Managers to improve route efficiency and address unsafe accounts. • Assist fellow drivers as directed and follow scheduled route assignments. • Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager. • Dump containers, clean the site, and position containers upright with lids secured, ensuring they do not block driveways. • Submit customer tickets for excess yardage removal and complete end‑of‑route documentation. • Maintain an acceptable driving record.
