About the Role
The Laborer/Groundman provides general labor for aerial and underground construction projects, including trench digging, material handling, conduit placement, map reading, equipment operation, and vehicle movement. The position also performs maintenance tasks, assists with RF and fiber installation and repair, and follows NESC safety guidelines under the direction of a foreman or supervisor. • Dig trenches, unload building materials, and prepare job sites using hand tools. • Perform general labor on construction sites and assist with conduit placement. • Read maps and follow directions for underground and aerial work. • Support trench digging, material movement, and vehicle operation under foreman guidance. • Conduct equipment maintenance, vehicle washing, and site clean‑up. • Operate certified trucks, bucket trucks, cable reel equipment, saws, drills, and climbing gear. • Tow trailers with flatbed trucks and relocate RF/Fiber services. • Troubleshoot and repair aerial/underground RF and fiber lines. • Interpret design schematics and construct from project maps. • Learn and become certified on line trucks, bucket trucks, and related equipment. • Follow NESC safety guidelines and prescribed safety procedures.

What You Bring
Candidates must prioritize safety, possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and be able to lift 70 lb. They should be able to read maps, drawings and schematics, have experience or certification in climbing, flagging, and overhead RF/Fiber construction, and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills. A background in concrete work, equipment operation, and knowledge of network architecture is preferred. • Strong safety focus and track record of high‑quality work. • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; able to lift 70 lb. • Ability to read maps, drawings, diagrams, and design schematics. • Climbing certification or related experience; Flagger certified as needed. • Practical experience in overhead RF and fiber construction; knowledge of network architecture. • Experience with concrete finishing, asphalt work, skid‑steer and roller operation. • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.

Benefits
Pay ranges from $32–$36 per hour, plus overtime in accordance with California law.
