About the Role

• Manage overall project financial health, including subcontracts and suppliers. • Develop and maintain project financial projections and allocate estimates in the financial system. • Determine cost codes, approve invoices, and provide billing data to Accounting for timely payment. • Create monthly owner billings and handle contract management, including contract buyouts. • Oversee budget selections of trade partners and suppliers. • Lead Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, assign jobs, and facilitate career development. • Approve on‑site team timecards and provide ongoing performance feedback. • Serve as primary contact for owners and on‑site representatives, review agreements, and resolve site concerns. • Execute and manage change orders, submit for approval, and coordinate with customers and architects. • Maintain schedule and budget through project completion, ensuring quality, risk, safety, compliance, and building diverse relationships.

What You Bring

Mortenson is looking for a Project Manager to lead project quality, timeliness, and safety while mentoring the team and strengthening customer relationships through excellent service. The role is available at two levels (Project Manager 1 and 2), with compensation based on experience, location, and internal equity. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. The posting remains open for a minimum of five days, averaging forty‑four days, and the company does not accept unsolicited agency communications. • Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil/architectural engineering, or construction management (or equivalent experience). • Valid driver’s license. • Proven ability to manage complex projects. • Detail‑oriented with ability to organize multiple tasks. • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices. • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, project software, and relevant web applications. • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies. • Strong active listening and communication skills, open to diverse input and feedback. • Knowledge of EEOC, inclusive behaviors, and affirmative action plans. • Project Manager 1: Minimum six years of construction management experience; salary range $113,500‑$170,300. • Project Manager 2: Minimum seven years of construction management experience with large projects ($20M+); salary range $132,100‑$198,200, higher in select locations.
