About the Role
Interns will work under the guidance of project engineers, superintendents, and managers, supporting tasks such as meeting coordination, material tracking, document control, progress reporting, and compliance with safety requirements. • Support project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, document control, and progress reporting. • Follow site signage and supervisor instructions; provide regular progress reports. • Apply academic knowledge to real‑world construction tasks. • Maintain professional relationships with employees, clients, and subcontractors. • Participate in training sessions, meetings, and orientation activities. • Assist Project Engineer, Superintendent, or Manager with project start‑up activities. • Collect and review information for shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs. • Prepare and distribute contract‑related information to appropriate parties. • Help estimate changes in work from subcontractors. • Attend site visits to observe and document field activities. • Draft correspondence to architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors. • Communicate with trades and subcontractors to track job schedules. • Monitor contractor compliance with Turner’s safety program. • Perform quantity take‑offs and studies using traditional or computer‑aided methods. • Request and distribute subcontractor proposals for scope of work. • Assist with project close‑out preparations.

What You Bring
The internship is located in Indianapolis, Indiana (ZIP 46225) and is classified as a regular, non‑exempt construction internship within Turner’s Construction division. The role provides supervised, hands‑on experience on active construction sites or in the main office, allowing the intern to develop foundational knowledge in construction management, project financials, safety protocols, subcontractor relations, quality control, and overall project coordination. Assignments may also count for academic credit. The position requires at least one year of post‑secondary education (or equivalent experience) in engineering, architecture, construction management or a related field, must be 18 years or older, and demands strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Physical demands include frequent sitting, walking, climbing stairs or ladders, lifting up to 10 lb regularly and up to 25 lb occasionally, and working in both office and construction site environments while adhering to company safety policies. • Comply with safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment.
