Senior Manager, General Legal

About the Role

The Senior Counsel, General Legal provides comprehensive legal advice for Carrier’s North America Residential HVAC business and reports to the Director of Legal, North America Residential Solutions. Responsibilities include counseling business units, negotiating contracts, supporting strategic technology and regulatory projects, managing claims and disputes, coordinating with internal Centers of Excellence, and advising on compliance risks while delivering training and policy implementation. • Provide legal counsel on corporate rights, obligations, and privileges for North America Residential Solutions. • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, customers, and strategic partners in line with corporate strategy and policies. • Support strategic projects related to technology, regulatory issues, and go‑to‑market initiatives. • Manage claims processes, pre‑litigation matters, and dispute resolution. • Coordinate with internal Centers of Excellence to deliver full‑scale legal support. • Advise on compliance risks, deliver practical training, and implement corporate policies and procedures. • Act as a consultative, strategic, solution‑focused business partner with a growth mindset. • Resolve conflicts, prioritize, and manage competing demands effectively.

What You Bring

• Hold a Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school. • Be admitted to the bar in any U.S. state. • Have at least 6 years of law firm or in‑house corporate/commercial experience. • Possess experience in contracts, commercial litigation, technology, or corporate law. • Experience advising manufacturing/technology companies, including factory and supply chain matters. • Demonstrate excellent written and communication skills.
