Graduate Assistant Surveyor (Cost Management) - Immediate Start
Assist in cost management, measurements, tender analysis, cash forecasts, and site valuations.

About the Role
As a cost manager, you will support the delivery of construction projects within the client’s budget by preparing cost reports, forecasts, cash‑flow projections and contract documentation, while keeping the client informed and managing financial risks. • Measure drawings from the design team, either manually or using software such as CostX. • Combine measurements and construction knowledge to produce a cost plan serving as the project budget. • Compile contract documents, including drawing registers, preliminaries, and pricing documents for tendering. • Receive tender returns and create a tender return analysis and clarification schedule for contractors. • Compare tender returns and recommend to the client which contractor to appoint. • Project cash forecasts for the client throughout the project lifecycle. • Attend site to value works completed to date, producing analysis and payment documentation per contract requirements. • Undertake value engineering to identify cost savings or more efficient use of funds. • Participate in site meetings, whether design team gatherings or progress meetings with contractors and the project team. • Communicate with relevant parties, such as suppliers for quotes, design teams, clients, and contractors regarding costs and variations. • Maintain a proactive and flexible approach to varied situations.

What You Bring
The Graduate Assistant Surveyor (Cost Management) position is a permanent full‑time role based in G&T’s London office, with an immediate start and an application deadline of 28 February 2026. Candidates must have already completed their university degree, as the role requires an immediately available graduate. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong academic background (2:1 or higher), proficiency with current IT systems, excellent communication and client‑care skills, and the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and operate both independently and as part of a team. Please note that G&T does not sponsor work permits for early‑talent roles, recruits on a rolling basis, and will consider only the first application submitted by a candidate each academic year. • Only candidates who have already graduated are eligible; applications from those graduating later this year are closed. • Achieve at least a 2:1 degree classification. • Demonstrate excellent working knowledge of current IT systems. • Understand the importance of client care and relationship building. • Exhibit excellent communication skills. • Prioritise work efficiently. • Work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
