About the Role

• Set up and remove cones, signs, barricades, and other traffic control equipment. • Use a stop/slow paddle to guide traffic while monitoring site activity. • Follow all safety rules taught during training and stay alert around moving traffic. • Keep vehicles and equipment clean and safe. • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, standing or walking 8‑12 hours per shift.

What You Bring

The Protector position requires no prior experience or degree; the company provides comprehensive training, safety equipment, and ongoing support to develop your skills and advance your career. AWP supplies a hard hat, safety goggles, vest, whistle, walkie‑talkie, and appropriate weather gear; you must provide steel‑toe boots that cover the ankle. • Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors. • Maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to lift 40‑50 pounds. • Wear steel‑toe boots above the ankle and be prepared for flexible scheduling, including nights and weekends. • Pass pre‑hire screening, including a drug test, as the role is safety‑sensitive.

Compensation includes an hourly wage with overtime and first‑year pay increases, plus paid training and a traffic safety certificate. Additional benefits are provided through the union.
