Group Leader - Central Distribution Center

About the Role

The Group Leader role oversees a 12‑hour overnight shift in a fast‑paced omnichannel distribution center, providing people‑first leadership to drive safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency. This position mentors and develops both team members and supervisors, fostering continuous improvement across the operation. Key responsibilities include managing a shift of roughly 100 fulfillment staff and several team leaders, planning staffing and budgets, leading improvement projects, and collaborating with cross‑functional partners to meet performance goals. The leader also promotes a safe work environment, a culture of 5S and continuous improvement, and handles payroll, vacation, and absenteeism records. • Lead a shift of ~100 fulfillment team members and 3‑6 supervisors. • Perform short‑ to mid‑term planning for budget, staffing, and projects. • Coordinate and participate in safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvement initiatives. • Develop team leaders, support new customer initiatives, and create standardized work procedures. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to achieve site goals. • Provide people leadership and drive employee engagement. • Ensure a safe working environment and promote 5S continuous‑improvement culture. • Select, train, and mentor team leaders for ongoing development. • Apply data analysis and structured problem‑solving tools. • Plan daily and mid‑term staffing to meet delivery and cost targets. • Prioritize departmental activities and manage payroll, vacation, and absenteeism records. • Partner with internal suppliers and customers to enhance overall site success. • Contribute to long‑term business development plans for future growth.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least five years of supervisory experience in a distribution or fulfillment setting, with a preferred degree in supply chain, business management, or a related field. The role requires a proven ability to inspire large teams, drive data‑based change, coach subordinate leaders, and work independently with strong digital literacy. • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in distribution/fulfillment. • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience). • Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and lead large teams. • Strong data‑driven change management and breakthrough thinking skills. • Consistent coaching of subordinate leaders and team members. • Ability to drive urgent business results and collaborate inclusively. • High independence, self‑reliance, and digital literacy.
