About the Role

The Tower Technician III installs, maintains, and operates wired, wireless, fiber‑optic, and microwave telecom equipment and systems. The role requires climbing towers, erecting various tower types, and handling material and site preparation. You will also mentor less‑experienced technicians and ensure compliance with MasTec safety policies and industry standards. • Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber‑optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment. • Climb towers and ladders of various heights safely. • Erect different tower types, including monopoles, self‑support, and guyed towers. • Off‑load material, manage inventory, and prepare/clean sites for work. • Install new carriers on new‑build and existing towers. • Assist tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles. • Install antennas (microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, FM broadcast) and related transmission lines. • Perform foundation, grounding, conduit, and electrical installations as needed. • Mentor less‑experienced technicians on site. • Follow MasTec Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI).

What You Bring

Ideal candidates are safety‑conscious, have a high‑school diploma, at least four years of tower experience, and possess an NWSA certification. You must be able to read technical prints, lift 50 lb, work up to 12 hours, and hold a valid driver’s license. Strong problem‑solving skills and a willingness to work hands‑on with a team are essential. • Minimum 4 years tower experience with ability to climb towers and lift 50 lb. • High school diploma required; NWSA certification mandatory. • Ability to read and follow printed instructions and technical drawings. • Valid driver’s license meeting company policy requirements. • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
