About the Role
The Business Development Executive will lead growth for CGS’s Air Force Programs account, driving pipeline development and capture success across high‑priority mission areas such as IT/Technical Services, logistics, construction, training, education, and professional services. The role requires a seasoned Air Force business development leader with an established network across key Air Force acquisition and operational organizations and will work closely with the Director of Business Development. The executive will create a three‑year Air Force Account Plan aligned to CGS’s five‑year strategy, develop a pipeline that meets growth metrics, and serve as the subject‑matter expert for Air Force programs, customers, and acquisition environments. • Develop and implement a customer‑focused business development strategy aligned with Air Force client needs • Lead opportunity identification and qualification to build a qualified Air Force pipeline • Establish and maintain relationships with senior Air Force leadership and program managers • Engage Air Force stakeholders to understand mission goals, procurement challenges, and acquisition strategies • Collaborate with capture and proposal teams to create winning strategies that meet Air Force priorities • Represent CGS at Air Force industry events, conferences, and forums to increase visibility • Provide regular updates to the Director of Business Development on account performance and pipeline health • Monitor market trends, budgetary changes, and competitive positioning within the Air Force sector • Develop customer‑specific marketing materials and presentations that resonate with mission requirements • Participate in post‑award debriefs and customer feedback sessions to improve future pursuits • Maintain deep understanding of Air Force procurement policies, contract vehicles, and acquisition processes • Create a 3‑year Air Force Account Plan aligned with CGS’s 5‑year strategic plan • Develop a pipeline that meets growth metrics • Serve as CGS’s subject‑matter expert for Air Force programs, customers, and acquisition environments

What You Bring
The position is remote but the candidate must reside within a one‑hour drive of Wright‑Paterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH or the National Capital Region. Candidates must have at least three years of recent success winning Air Force opportunities, two years of business development or capture experience focused on Air Force IT/Tech or logistics, a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, and ten years of experience with U.S. Air Force commands. Additional qualifications include strong knowledge of Air Force procurement processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to travel up to 25%. • Achieve 3+ years of proven success winning Air Force opportunities as a pursuit lead within the past 8 years • Possess 2+ years of business development or capture management experience focused on Air Force IT/Tech or logistics • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business, Marketing, Supply Chain or a related field • Bring 10+ years of experience with U.S. Air Force commands or programs • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Air Force procurement processes and mission priorities • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills for senior‑level engagement • Travel up to 25% as needed to engage with Air Force customers and attend events • Active membership in AFA, AFCEA, NDIA or related professional organizations in Dayton, OH • Possess industry IT certifications such as CompTIA, CISSO, ISA, or APICS • Prior experience supporting Air Force programs and winning sole‑source work • Hold a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Strategic Studies or a related field • Earn Shipley or other relevant business development/capture certifications
