About the Role
The Rail & Transit team is delivering transformative transit and rail infrastructure across the Greater Toronto Area. In this role, you will apply civil engineering expertise to design roadways, utilities, stormwater, and grading integrations that support major transit programs and improve communities throughout Ontario. You will develop detailed engineering designs, calculations, reports, specifications, and cost estimates that guide client decisions, while reviewing and mentoring the work of other engineers to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with industry standards. Collaboration with Track, Structural, Buildings, Systems, and Environmental teams, as well as field reviews and technical support during construction, are key components of the position. • Design civil infrastructure for major transit programs, including roadways, utilities, stormwater, and grading. • Produce engineering designs, calculations, reports, specifications, and cost estimates. • Review and mentor work of engineers and designers to ensure accuracy and constructability. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (Track, Structural, Buildings, Systems, Environmental). • Conduct field reviews and provide technical support during construction phases. • Identify design risks and develop mitigation strategies to reduce delays and costs. • Apply Metrolinx, City of Toronto, and other authority requirements for safe, compliant infrastructure. • Maintain deep knowledge of Metrolinx DRM, Metrolinx Civil Engineering Standards, AERMA, and municipal guidelines. • Commit to delivering high‑quality work that improves communities and transportation networks.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate brings more than 10 years of hands‑on civil design experience for rail, transit, or complex urban projects, a deep knowledge of Metrolinx, AERMA, and City of Toronto standards, and a P.Eng. licence in Ontario. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office is required, with MicroStation or InRoads considered an asset. • Demonstrate 10+ years of civil design experience in rail, transit, or complex urban projects. • Hold a valid P.Eng. licence in Ontario and experience working with public agencies. • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office; MicroStation/InRoads a plus.
