About the Role
The Manager of External Communications will be based at one of our corporate offices in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC, Chicago, or Oakbrook, IL. This role develops and executes external communications plans, employs advanced media‑relations skills to promote company priorities, creates content, and serves as the company spokesperson, while supporting Exelon’s leadership team. Key responsibilities include providing strategic counsel on external communications, acting as the communications liaison for senior leaders, producing compelling written materials such as messaging, talking points, holding statements, scripts, and social‑media content, and managing vendor and agency relationships. • Develop and execute external communications plans; act as corporate spokesperson • Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders and coordinate with utility communications teams • Create messaging, talking points, holding statements, scripts, and social‑media content • Lead media relations, crisis communications, and financial communications initiatives • Oversee vendor and agency relationships • Direct priority campaigns, public‑speaking events, and executive engagements • Support executive leadership with communications expertise

What You Bring
Reporting to the Senior Manager of External Communications, the position requires agility in a fast‑paced environment, proactive planning, extensive writing and editing, strong project‑management and presentation skills, high organization, and occasional travel, with independent work and minimal supervision. Candidates must demonstrate excellent written and interpersonal communication abilities, strategic thinking, solid project‑management experience, advanced media‑relations expertise, and a track record of supporting executive leadership.
