About the Role
Key responsibilities include designing regional mine sites, power plants, and dam facilities such as stockpiles, impoundments, and water dams. The engineer will generate conceptual layouts, perform calculations for channels, culverts, detention ponds, spillways, and access roads, and conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling with HEC‑HMS and HEC‑RAS. Additional duties involve geotechnical evaluations, cost estimating, preparing technical proposals and permits, and collaborating with regional offices. • Design regional mine sites, power plants, and dam facilities (stockpiles, impoundments, tailings, water dams). • Create conceptual layouts and perform calculations for channels, culverts, detention ponds, spillways, rock drains, and access roads, incorporating erosion control and geosynthetics. • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using HEC‑HMS and HEC‑RAS. • Perform geotechnical evaluations and design analyses. • Develop quantity take‑offs, cost estimates, and alternative assessments. • Prepare technical proposals, reports, permit applications, and other project documents. • Design reservoirs and ponds with geosynthetic liners, leak detection systems, breach analyses, outlet works, and spillways. • Collaborate with regional offices on multidisciplinary projects. • Build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a BA/BS in Civil Engineering with at least four years of relevant experience and a valid U.S. driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include a Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a year, willingness to travel, and proficiency in HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS (1D/2D), AutoCAD Civil3D, and ArcGIS. • BA/BS in Civil Engineering with at least 4 years of experience. • Valid U.S. driver’s license. • Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility to obtain within one year (preferred). • Ability to travel as required. • Proficiency in HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS (1D/2D), AutoCAD Civil3D, and ArcGIS.
